Bio:
From a young age Ryuuk had immense power, so much that he couldn't always control it and would black out from the strain on his body. When Ryuuk turned around 300(For his family this is around the Human age of five) he had his right arm tattooed with a black western dragon, symbolizing his near uncontrollable power. Around age 534 Ryuuk finally got complete control of his power, which at this point in time his aura had changed from just a large mass of black reiatsu to more of a spiraling formation around him. Once he had learned to control it he decided to try to join the gotei 13, for him this was a big deal, as his family was a very proud one indeed, and anyone who can't make it was considered trash. Throughout the next three years he went through the process of becoming a full fledged shinigami, he was drafted into the eigth squad by the current Captain who had noticed his abilities.
During his time in the eigth squad Ryuuk learned a lot about the life of a Shinigami, and what it means to have a power so great it can be a burden, even though he wanted to make comrades, people were scared of him and saw him as a demon rather than a Soul Reaper. Albeit this was unavoidable, it was to be expected of one who's beast was a black dragon. Ryuuk was appointed the Lieutenant of his squad by the Captain to try and help him gain more comrades in more than just name. As Lieutenant Ryuuk made many changes to how things were handeled, most of them better than the old ways, but not always liked as the old ways were. Some time around his 1300th year, his captain passed away due to a horrible illness, in his will the Captain left the squad to Ryuuk, the rest of the squad didn't like this, so often would ignore orders, that is until Ryuuk was forced to rule over them with fear, he really hated to, but it was a necesity for them to be able to work together.
400 years later Ryuuk was exiled for killing someone who challenged him for his rank, it wasn't really just for him killing them, but that was the stated reason. It was more due to his entire squad being scared to death of him, and for him having lazed off on his duties too much. At this point in time Ryuuk was ready to leave on his own anyways, so he didn't bother fighting the decision and instead left for the human world nigh immediately. From that point on he had been travling about the human world in search of a place to call his home.

The Dazimagie family is the longest running family in the Soul Society, they are known for their potent reiatsu power and long lives. It is also believed that the Dazimagie family spans farther than just the Soul Society, and even some Arrancars and Vaizards may be lurking in their midst.
